the storm

the dark, stormy night seemed to reflect her feelings exactly.

the pounding rain never ceased.

it seemed to the onlookers that the heavens themselves were mourning.

the thunder crashed again, ushering dread into many homes.

the lighting flashed now and again, betraying the storm’s merciless fury.

from her window-sill one girl watched,

wincing at each mighty thunder clasp,

yet glad at the opportunity it offered her.

she slipped out of the front door,

and raced into the night,

nowhere to go,

just running all alone.

hours later,

she was still running,

like a mad women,

into the dark night,

the storm had not passed,

and her strength was running out,

where could she turn,

she could not even go back home,

no clue where she was,

nowhere to go.

her body finally collapsed,

in a deserted alleyway,

her soul,

was returned,

so black and dirty,

she lost her life,

but years ago,

she had lost her soul.

Woah…this is powerful…and difficult to read and think about…we should pray for all those children and teens whose souls have been lost…that they be returned…and that they see the beauty in living life to the fullest!

I have to agree with Devorah on this one… Woah, powerful and difficult all at the same time. Incredibly written, but content-wise downright frightening. I loved it!
